here is a list of some of the commonly used medical abbreviations, we hear most of them in the clinical rounds, and u may find it in some textbooks, even sometimes u may face them in the lectures so u can simply know them, my favourites are Bx=biopsy, Dx=diagnosis, Hx=history, Rx=prescription & Sx=symptoms.. (they r so cute)
u can download the file below and find out the rest of the list..

Great jop dr zizo

u know i like these :
Ca Calcium
CA, Ca, ca Cancer, carcinoma

looool i know now why some doctors diagnose the cancer as a calsium by a mistake ,
so if oneday u heard from a doctor this case is Cancer ,
It is very likely to be a calsium case :D .

it might be confusing Dr. Reda, but usually CA with both capital (C) and (A), stands for Cancer, while Ca -as we all know from our schools- with capital (C) and small (a) means Calcium..
i think it doesn't need that intelligence to know that CA lung will simply means lung cancer & not (lung calcium).. :D , so they r totally different.
thanx GIANT doctor..
