Salam to every one.

Well, as my sister saied it's really a challenge to write about a specific way in studying not only in the clinical years but in any year. There is no specific way to be used. even the books used to study by students defere. for me I get many info. I need from the BST and the lectures. the best thing is to study contineuosly and attend your lectures. any way I bleive that although the clinical years need alot of work but are easier in studying than the academic years.

salam ..

its very nice from you dr-perfecta ..
how students pass the challenge of studying,

for me ...
the best thing i tried is to attend the lecture and lestin to it carefully ,write few notes about it..then back to it at the same day.

this make me understand and memorize it always..

and then one week before the exam i read the whole lectures that i can read & at the same day of the exam just pass over it wuickly..

& sleeping well before the exam make my mind clear during it ...

my best wishes to you all

Hey every one...............

thank u all for ur replys ............u relly gave us the keys of the productive studying which are .....

1-motivation........the thing that come from within.......this is what u need to build inside u....just strongly belive that u want to study..be intrested.......finde what motivate u .....success...pass exam....acomplishment or to understand..
then tell ur self u want it badly....
..for me my motivation was to know and learn...i really hate to take a topic and then not to know about it all........

this waht made u do the best thing (the best thing is to study contineuosly and attend your lectures) as mentioned by dr.lord.....

2-repetion.........as everybody here agreed up on .....so reading and rereading until u mastered the information never leave it until u r sure that it is clear and well known for u

3-Association.....connecting the informations always the greatest way to study........such as remembering something by associate it with somethin else..........to memorise
.........also associate the informattion to ur pt..........read about his condition......and search for Knowledge to help to improvethe quality of care for ue pt.............and the best way for association.....ios what de worood told us..
(then back to it at the same day)

that was the sum of what i read , told.......with little experience........
thanx agian........
this for now waiting for u.............and let's dicuss what to study

Asslam Alaikum

Coming late , really very important talk .

My previous speakers talked about what should be done during these years to overcome problems during studying .

I`ll add some thing , as doctor lord said bed side teaching and lectures >>>> very important to make a correlation between them .

Please , when u r going to study some thing >>>> better to correlate it with the life , every thing u read it and apply it on patient , u have to ask yourself WHY U ARE DOING THAT ?? and believe me u ask now better than late .

Let `s learn with understanding rather than learning for marks or some thing like that , the result will be at the end : difficult to come , easy to go .

BUT also marks are impo. Don`t say that I said : it is not , no it is impo. But really we think about it once we want to finish from a boaring subject or from one can`t be understandable more wether this is because of doctors wise or system wise or even sometimes the student himself is not toleratable for the subject .

:l:

One thing I want to emphesize on is that , I think the next coming trend in studying in the universities will be completely changed and the new way for studying will be completely different .

For example , probably the way of studying will be based mainly on system called PROBLEM BASED LEARNING ( PBL ) , the idea of this system is that , there will be a group of students and one who is organizing the setting , the topic will be for example an article about the HYPERTENSION in the Saudi Arabia , then from this topic , students can explore a lot and a lot of questions regarding HTN by the help of the organizer , after that , students go and search about the questions they handeled them in every branch i.e. starting from anatomy of the heart and circulation and ending by the management of HTN and how to prevent it and follow up those patients according to the year level of the student . On the next setting of PBL , students will explore these information and correct them if they have any mistake .

This system depend on the motivation of the student thinking , why he want to catch the information , and which information he needs to search for , which book could he use to search about the information , depending mainly on the student and his need to correlate the subjects with each other , so , a lot of benefits for integration of different subjects together , so that , at the end of the meeting from this setting PBL , he will find himself that , he catched a lot of information was hinded from his mind , only the remaining is to search about these information .

And nowadays , several universities are doing the same thing even here in the kingdom .

Also , one of our department in our colleague starting getting this system for learning . It will be difficult at the beginning but the benefit at the end will be much much high .

I think very important to explain what is PBL and what is Evidence Based Medicine ( EBM ) mean very well in a separate threads in our forum , they are both the new trend for getting the information and very important to be catched easily by the doctor`s hands .

Sorry for this long reply , I hope the students getting benefit from it .

With my best wishes .
