i don't have much to say but anyways
i think there should've been an english level test for 1st year students not all students need to study as much english as we r studying currently so i don't know but i really think it's so much english and not needed by all students

UmmMm, about your complain, from your few words it seems that you are in a good english level Masha'allah.

When I was in the first year, the faculty stablished a system and made a contract with Berlitz instiute for this purpose. They involved us in tests then put the students in groups according to the results. And since it is a private institue, about RS 17,000 were prized for those who marked 2 or less out of 5 in their exam. Of course it was too much and thus the contract has been cancelled. This is to inform you that the faculty has tried to establish a new system for English course in the first year.

UmmmM, you are about 200 male students in the first year MD + MS, and a number of female students close to that number. Dividing you in groups according to your English level is not an easy procedure. just think about the following:

1- you need to re-schedule the english language doctors, but remember that they also teach in other colleges beside ours

2- you need to spacify books and sujects for each group according to English level

3- the most important, it is rather not preferred psychologically, since it is not good to tell the student that you are in this group because you are poor in English. hope you are understanding me. But when all the students are encountred in the same level, it will encorage the poor one to work hard to be in the same level of the good one, right dear ??


Dont feel it heavy, you've not seen any thing yet. In contrast, take it easy and feel funny. enjoy your English course hours, and to learn even ONE new word is better for you than to join an English class with a feeling that it is for those who are weeker in English than you

maybe u r right but u know i thought it would be better because it would save us time like if u get a higher mark in that test u take less english hours like u don't have to take the writing course or the reading course and some of the other courses if u don't need them and they won't have to divide the students into groups depending or their levels.

UmmmMm, who told you that you will NOT need reading and writing course ?? Just open the medical illustration and social biology book that is for reading course, and see the tons of basic medical informations and theories written over there. You will not find all these informations collected togather in any other medical book. This book is not for reading course only, but the most important for you is what written there, since you are going to be a DOCTOR...

For the writing course, let me tell you some thing, compare your self before and after studying the course, you will get the answer...


You said that it would save your time, are you going to open a medical book and read it during the 2 hours of one English period ??


by the way, reading course book is written by an English auther I think, and it is specified to be tought to pre acadimic medical students there in England, so how do you think, isn't it more necessary for us although they are natives ??

one time , i am talking with one of assistant professors
and during our discussion she told me one word i was keep it in my mind

she told me a story was happen to her
during the internship , she did not like to prepare ELISA solution
one time , the one who r responsiable to prepare the solution was absent

cause she told herself the method is toooooo easy and i can do it with closed eyes

i saved all my 1st year english books and i read it up to now

and i found some thing imp. to me every time

well maybe i should've replied with salam but i don't have to to so i won't
and about the reading course y do they call it english reading course if it's not about reading like if u say it's full of med info?
and what about the writing course will they like teach us how to spell words? anyways i don't care
if u ask me what i'll do in those 2 hours for any english course i'd sleep or study physiology or biochem besides i won't need to study them at home but really thank u
