Def: the hip become short due to uncertain pathology
age: children under 10 years especially boys.
Cause: unknown , but injury may consider as a cause of it.
Pathology: unknown,might be due to mild inflammation due to minor injury or viral infection.
Clinical picture:
Pain in the groin and thigh.
Child notice to limp.
O\E : the only sign is limitation of movement.
Radiograph not show anything abnormal
Diagnosis:
Should be diagnosed only after the hip has recovered-never while the symptoms and signs present.
Full recovery within a few weeks(6 weeks) exclude the most serious disease.
Treatment :
Rest in bed until pain settled and full movement restored.
